SOP For Cleaning Of Sampling Equipment

Standard operating procedure for cleaning the sampling equipment or sampling device.

1.0 Purpose

The purpose of this SOP is to develop a standard procedure for cleaning the sampling equipment used for sampling of raw materials or in process products.

2.0 Scope

This SOP is applicable for the procedure used for cleaning of sampling equipment.

3.0 Responsibility

3.1 QC assistant is responsible for cleaning the sampling equipment.

3.2 The QC officer is responsible for implementing this SOP.

3.3 The QC Manager is responsible for ensuring the implementation of this SOP.

3.4 Q.A. Officer monitors the compliance of this SOP.

Note 

Scopes,spoon,SS rods & glass pipettes are used for sampling.

4.0 Procedure

4.1 Scopes/Spoons

4.1.1 Remove uncleaned scoops/ spoons from the polythene bag in the dedicated sink of the washing area.

4.1.2 Thoroughly wash the scoops/ spoons with the raw water.

4.1.3 Now wash the scoops/ spoons with the 1%  food grade detergent.

4.1.4 Rinse the scoops/ spoons with purified water.

4.1.5 Clean it with lint free cloth & rinse it with 70% IPA & again clean it with lint free cloth.

4.1.6 Place it in a hot air oven at 30°C for 5 min & then at 50 °C until completely dry.

4.1.7 Remove the dried scoops/spoon & allow it to cool.

4.1.8 After cooling, place the cleaned dry scoops/Spoon in a polythene bag & close it with a tie clip.

4.1.9 Affix Cleaned label & place it in storage cabinet.

4.1.10 Record the cleaning activity in the log book.

4.2 Sampling Glass Pipettes 

4.2.1 Remove uncleaned glass pipette from the polythene bag in the dedicated sink of the washing area.

4.2.2 Thoroughly wash the  pipette with the raw water.

4.2.3 Now wash the glass pipette with the 1% food grade detergent.

4.2.4 Rinse the pipette with purified water.

4.2.5 Clean it with lint free cloth & rinse it with 70% IPA & again clean it with lint free cloth.

4.2.6 Place the cleaned dry pippet in a polythene bag & close it with a tie clip.

4.2.7 Affix Cleaned label & place it in storage cabinet.

4.2.8 Record the activity in the log book.

4.3 SS Sampling Rod 

4.3.1 Remove uncleaned stainless steel sampling rod from the polythene bag in the dedicated sink of the washing area.

4.3.2 Separate both parts of the sampling device and wash it with the raw water.

4.3.3 Now wash the sampling thieve or sampling rod with the 1% food grade detergent.

4.3.4 Rinse it with purified water.

4.3.5 Clean it with lint free cloth & rinse it with 70% IPA & again clean it with lint free cloth.

4.3.6 Place the cleaned sampling rod in a polythene bag & close it with a tie clip.

4.3.7 Affix Cleaned label & place it in storage cabinet.

Record the activity in the log book.
